water baptism

decide to declare

Water baptism is one of the most significant events in the life of a follower of Jesus. Baptism is an outward expression of an internal decision—it’s the public declaration of our faith in Jesus. When we decide to leave the past behind and put our faith in Jesus, the Bible says our next step is water baptism.

Questions about Water Baptism?

I was baptized as a child, should I get baptized again?

The Bible teaches that baptism is an action that follows an individual’s decision to believe and trust in Jesus. After you make this decision, you do not need to be baptized more than once. If you were too young to decide for yourself when you were baptized, there is precedent for being baptized again now that you have personally decided to follow Jesus.

Can my children be baptized?

When a child makes their own decision to put their faith in Jesus and commit to follow Him, they are ready to be baptized. For infants and young children who are not yet ready to make this decision, we have Child Dedications––a moment for parents to commit to raising their children in the way of Jesus and the local church. If you are interested in Child Dedication, please email kids@livefullyalive.com.

I was baptized at another church, should I be baptized again?

You do not need to be baptized more than once if you decided to believe and trust in Jesus before you got baptized.
